Question of the Month

I haven’t learned to love myself. I just rely on and trust God and those things are the end result of the reliance and trust. In other words I put God first and these things follow.

– Mark B.

I used a variety of techniques along with the Steps. I knew that it was an important piece to my recovery. The most significant learning was to integrate my inner child into my adult self. And making sure I listen to her always as an unconditional loving parent when she freaks out. Acceptance of myself lead to acceptance of others.

– Val B.

I learned to love myself through the acceptance of the group. As I share the good and not-so-good parts of myself, the love of the groups combined me that it’s OK not to be perfect. That I’m OK.

Through the love of God, putting God in front of me in all I do and allowing myself to hear God pause, before any action 🙏🏻 especially compulsive behaviours.

– Grace M.

Loving myself grew out of working my way through this program. It helped me “Step” away from the shame cycle, and let go of old, unhealthy, patterns. With the help of my HP, that horrible gnawing feeling in my gut, that perpetually ate away at my sense of self, my self-esteem was gradually replaced with a sense of Love like I have never known before!
