May the 14th Be With You…

When asked to do service for Experience Strength and Hope Newsletter, I questioned HP, “do I have time?”. Taking on too much service has been a habit of mine and there came a point last year when I did have to say “no” to positions I loved. I knew in my heart it was what I had to do and it was most definitely a hard pill to swallow, but that’s all apart of acceptance. Thy will not mine be done. In HP’s time all would be revealed. I just have to take action and do!

When asked to take on a couple of articles for this month, once again doubting Thomas appeared in my crazy head. As soon as I opened up Voices of Recovery April 14th, I knew in my heart it was where I needed to be. Ever have those “God winks“?

This edition having a theme of “Birthdays & Milestones”, I smiled as I read the morning reading. Anyone who knows OA Foot Steps, knows how those words in this reading were instrumental in its founding.

I may have not been around then, but in the last 5 years of being with OAFS Intergroup, I have followed in many others footsteps and now being almost 6 years recovered (April 24th, 2019 is my abstinent date), I too am making footsteps.

A great birthday gift and milestone in recovery for me. From a gal who hated English in school and am now able to write articles and share my experience, strength and hope in this newsletter, I am leaving footsteps for those yet to come.

What a service to share one’s experience, strength, and hope.

Thank you for my recovery.
