Question of the Month

How do you celebrate yourself for a birthday (oa or non oa related) and/or milestones ?

The milestone which stands out to me the most is when my sponsor told me that I was ready to become a sponsor. I was nervous, excited and wondering if maybe she was a little bit crazy to “set me loose” on a potential sponsee, lol. When I told her this she asked me if I was abstinent?
“Yes”. Did I have experience, strength and hope to share? “Yes”. Did I own a Big Book? “Yes”. She smiled and said, you are ready.

I have spoken at the Footsteps monthly birthday and milestones event. I also keep the chips that I get for each growing time of abstinence.—Denise-New York, USA

I love celebrating myself and my friends. I used to celebrate with food, but now a hug or thoughtful gesture is what I find the most rewarding.
