Question of the Month

Thank God that I allow God to educate me in discipline… Today, for 4.8 years, since I joined the Overeaters Anonymous organization, my self-discipline is expressed in doing step 10 as soon as I recognize it has come, in completing the soul-searching of step 11 every night, in the step 11 prayer of This morning “keep my thoughts away…” and turning to a higher power when I don’t know which way to choose or when I’m in any kind of turmoil.

By the grace of God, I volunteer a lot helping others in the organization Overeaters Anonymous and other organizations and thanks to the discipline I make sure to carry out God’s will for me.

– Michal.

One way I use self-discipline in my life is I must remove distractions to stay focused.

-Kathleen.

I did not have healthy self-discipline before the fellowship. It looked like yet another way to beat myself up for not doing enough, or it looked like extreme self-will that ran riot. Today, I have accomplished more than I could have ever imagined with self-discipline that has my HP as a guide and coach.

I use the spiritual principle of self-discipline in my life daily.  By scheduling my OA Tools on my calendar, and keeping my appointments, I apply this design for living to all of my affairs.
